Developer Nick Swardh has released version 2.6 for his PSPVC (PSP Video Converter), the multi-purpose video and audio conversion tool for the PSP. Here's a shortlist of the latest changes in version 2.6:

  • Fixed a 2-pass encoding bug
  • Fixed a "Video Downloader" bug
  • Fixed a USB "Upload" bug
Given it's been a while since our last coverage, we'll also be listing PSPVC's current number functions:
  • Video Features:
    • Convert almost all videoformats to your PSP (too many to list)
    • Encode videos to normal MP4 (SP) or high resolution MP4 videos (AVC)
    • Target File Size option
    • Custom or predefined resolution options
    • Framerate options
    • Bitrate Tolerance (optional)
    • Resize Options (Auto Resize option new in v2.0)
    • Aspect settings (keep aspect / normal / widescreen)
    • Pad & Crop (auto / manual) options
    • 1 Pass or 2 Pass options
  • Audio Features:
    • Selectable bitrate values
    • Selectable frequency values
    • Mono / Stereo
    • Increase or decrease volume (0 = no sound, 800 = VERY LOUD!!)
    • Sync / Delay audio correction
    • Kill Video - Convert music or rip adudio from videos into MP4 AAC music files
PSPVC version 2.6 is built for PCs running on WIndows XP, updated to .NET Framework 3.0. You will also need a PSP updated to at least firmware 3.30 to run the converted videos properly.
