Blasting chickens out of the sky can make for an enjoyable, if somewhat humorous, distraction. This is essentially the theme of the latest homebrew game from developer sony_psp_player. The latest build of the game (version 3) has been recognized as an official entry for the PSP Updates Summer Homebrew Contest.

Those of you familiar with the commercial version of the game will find that this homebrew port follows the same no-brainer gameplay shooter style. There's really nothing to it - just line up the crosshair in front of a chicken then press the R trigger to shoot.

In addition to shooting chickens, there is also a Breakout-like mode included in the game. All in all, it's a very faithful and enjoyable translation of the original title. If you love shooting chickens and enjoyed playing this game, don't hesitate to vote for it once the contest polls go live.
