Sony bringing new tech to PS3, PSP via upcoming SDK updates

Sony just keeps on pumping out some interesting technology for the PS3 console. 3D's already been dated for next year, and there's another piece of tech that allows for ridiculously high-resolution imaging not just on PS3 but on its handheld sibling as well.

The tech, which is apparently already being used on a Japanese release calendar program available on the Japanese PlayStation Store, can seamlessly enlarge or reduce image data, and even allows developers to add a variety of content, including movies, into the images. What impresses me most is that it's also possible on the PSP.

An upcoming SDK update will give developers access to the tech, although Sony hasn't given out a specific date yet. Check out the vid below for a demo.
