Whoa, that was fast. The PSP Gen team has announced that they have decrypted Sony's official 4.05 firmware update. You can check out the picture to the right for a look see.
According to the team, not much has changed since 4.01. The team has expressed doubts that Dark AleX and the rest of Team M33 will provide an update for their custom firmware. Still, pending an official update from the team, there's no reason to dash your hopes just yet. At any rate, we'll be sure to keep you posted.
The PSP Gen team will be releasing a PSAR dumper for the firmware real soon, so watch out for that one.
