Barlog reveals partnership with George Miller in next project

Cory Barlog - Image 1God of War series fans have been eagerly anticipating what little news we can get hold of about God of War 2 director Cory Barlog and what he's been up to since he left Sony. Now, the famed game maker seems like he's ready to talk as seen in a recent interview.

N'Gai Croal is doing a multi-part interview with Barlog through the Newsweek Level Up blog. In the first and second parts, Barlog revealed that he has forged a partnership with film writer director George Miller, acclaimed for his work on such hits as Mad Max and Babe.

Barlog describes his first meeting with Miller as a dynamic interaction between two storytellers. "While he may not be a hardcore gamer, he has a game knowledge, and he comes from an angle that I'm very passionate about," says the God of War 2 main man.

"I don't really want to make casual games or games with no sort of story backbone or character backbone," adds Barlog. This should keep hardcore fans happy if they want to see more titles with content as epic as Kratos' tale.

Barlog also reiterated the toughness of deciding to leave Sony to carve his own destiny. He says the move took a lot of thinking and negotiation before everyone was able to come to grips with it.

The latter parts of N'Gai Croal's interview with Barlog will go live on Thursday and we'll be sure to bring it to you as soon as possible. In the meantime, you can follow the source link below to get the full nitty-gritty on the Q & A.
